ASGC kicks off its wellness program with an exotic destination
ASGC (Al Shafar General Contracting Company) has launched a community healthcare program, with the aim of improving employee health and wellness. The program reflects the family spirit and care between the company and its staff, by deploying awareness campaigns to raise engagement and encourage employees to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
Designed to focus on various health-related issues, the program will target a number of initiatives, or ‘health marathons’, to increase awareness among ASGC’s employees and their extended family members.
The first health marathon, ‘Lose to Win’, was launched last month in collaboration with Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital – Dubai. Throughout the 28-day challenge, employees were encouraged to take control of their weight and health. It aimed to encourage staff to lose weight through a healthy diet in a fun and enjoyable way. The participants were selected among those who registered their interest, in accordance with their medical condition. During the campaign, participants were closely monitored by a doctor and nutrition adviser, and followed a specially designed menu.
The winner, who lost 11.94% of his body weight, was announced at the end of the health marathon, and was awarded a trip for two to the Maldives. Runners-up received gift vouchers as well as beauty and grooming vouchers from Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital – Dubai.
